Vic: Vic govt announces $6 million campaign to lure migrants
Victorian Premier STEVE BRACKS has announced a new $6 million campaign to draw skilled
migrants to the state.
He says $2 million will be spent on internet and domestic marketing, including a re-vamped
web site and advertising in international trade magazines, immigration guides and other
publications.
Another $3 million will be spent to support 10 regional centres to attract skilled
and business migrants.
Mr BRACKS says the program is part of the state government's drive to increase Victoria's
population.
He says immigration policy is primarily the federal government's responsibility, but
the federal government is doing enough.
