INDON HOWARD (JAKARTA)
Indonesia's most senior legislative leader AMIEN RAIS has partially backed down froma vow to boycott JOHN HOWARD's visit.
He now says he will meet the Australian Prime Minister at a business lunch tomorrow.
But Mr RAIS, the speaker of Indonesia's National Assembly, says he will still not receiveMr HOWARD in the parliament, despite an earlier plan to do so.
He says all 11 parties of the legislature have unanimously voted against Mr HOWARD'sthree-day visit starting today.
