Vic: State Liberals rule out deals with One Nation
Victorian Opposition leader DENIS NAPTHINE has ruled out doing political deals with
PAULINE HANSON'S One Nation party.
And he's described as "disturbing" the fact that One Nation has polled so well in the
Western Australian election.
He says One Nation preferences against sitting members gave government to the Labor
Party in WA, a trend he finds disturbing.
Dr NAPTHINE says one of the reasons why the Liberal Party opposes changes to the electoral
system in Victoria's upper house is that the introduction of proportional representation
would make it easier for One Nation to win seats.
The Victorian government is yet to comment on the Western Australian election result.
